Here are some pics from DD5's party yesterday with a finished cake pic update from this post
The finished cake (well the decorated cake before i dusted all the cornflour and stuff off it....not great but DD5 liked it so that's what counts right??)
and the candle blowing out by the birthday girl
Cutting into the cake (this was follwed by gasps....of horror maybe at how much food colouring is about to be consumed?? hehe)
And a stash of felt crowns to be decorated by the kids (though most of them preferred them plain - I had glue/glitter/jewels/felt pieces and stickers to decorate them with).
Idea from here and here (though mine are primitive versions of these amazing ladies crowns...one layer of felt with a piece of elastic for the back) ...I might make a few more to keep in my gift box :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GIRL....School starts in a couple of weeks...eeeeeekkkkk.

Yeah, just as I gasped in horror at Christine's version I also gasped in horror at yours. Just AMAZING!! Love the felt crown decorating idea;-)
Yeah when DD5 saw Christines one last year she told me thats what she wanted and shes has asked for it since (and since C is her bestest friend apparantly haha she wanted it even more :D )
it's a fantastic cake - and a girl only turns 5 once in her life!
And that is why you serve up the cake as they are leaving to make sure that the colouring trip hits when they leave ;)
Its just gorgeous - well done!

Wicked cake !!!!Love the crowns. Better than junk to take home.
So sorry we missed the party - make sure you give birthday girl a big hug from us all!!! With trying to find a new house to move to and just 16 days until move out date, things are pretty messy as you can imagine. Still, the kids and I wish sweet miss 5 a fantastic year! Catch up soon, x
